Stendhal Syndrome

Have you heard that everybody can learn to assault with art?

It is a psychosomatic illness caused more by visual attractiveness than by inherent beauty. Psychiatric and physical disorders are referred to be psychosomatic. Stendhal syndrome is often referred to as Florence syndrome and the Art attack. It's quite unusual to everyone, right? Although we are aware of heart attacks and brain attacks, we never give the possibility of a condition like an art attack much thought.

Heneri Marie Beyle, a 19th-century French novelist, explained the illness he had throughout his life whenever he went to Florence in Italy, giving Stendhal syndrome its name. In other word, severe emotional, bodily, and mental symptoms, that experience while or viewing a work of art.

Symptoms of Stendhal symptoms

Some of these signs and symptoms resemble panic attacks. Shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, paranoia, rapid heartbeat, chest pains, dizziness, fainting, and hallucinations are some of the symptoms.

People experience panic attacks as a result of their physical and mental health being affected by intense emotions. As a result of their inability to resist the mesmerizing beauty, travelers who visit holy cities and experience psychotic religious or messianic delusions, among other symptoms, may develop acute psychiatric symptoms.

Two years ago, the international press reported that a man had a heart attack while admiring the well-known Renaissance artwork "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli, which is kept at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.

Treatment

To be completely honest, there is no cure for this illness. However, there are ways to deal with this situation. For example, if anyone feels overwhelmed by art, take a break and leave the place. If they continue to feel unsettled, they could do grounding exercises like body scan meditation or deep breathing. If it fails, they can speak with medical experts about our issues and ask for their assistance in managing their overpowering emotions.

But in order to receive proper care, it is imperative that we are conscious of our bodies.

A Korean web series called "Her Private Life" mentioned the "Stendhal Syndrome" to me. Whatever the case, I hope the web series I described made it clear, and I advise you to check it out on VIKI app.

I'm hoping everyone enjoys this topic.

Many thanks, guys!

Stay joyful! Maintain your constant smile!
