“What are the current prospects of Ayurveda/Homeopathic and Allopathic?”
“What are the current prospects of Ayurveda/Homeopathic and Allopathic?”
As the race for the
vaccine or cure intensifies, several doctors and researchers have been
constantly experimenting with numerous medicines, drugs to see if there have a
possible cure for the issue. In addition, there are several alternatives and
complementary medicine forms i.e. Homeopathic are being studied broadly. As
same Ayurveda is one among them, being studied in the form of treatment.
Currently, most of the researchers are putting more efforts to get effective
treatment through Ayurveda medical approach.
Let’s discuss allopathic and Homeopathic/
Ayurveda…………………………………….............
Homeopathic medicines always
follow the principle of the source which causes the problem
will medicate it. This medical approach also follows the theory that a lower
dose of medication can act as an effective dose rather than a heavier dose.
This medical approach is usually believed in natural substances i.e.,
belladonna, lead, lavender, phosphoric acid, marigold and arnica. The
main goal of homoeopathic medicine is to strengthen the immune system with
small doses of medicines. Thus, doses can be varied from person to
person. Different action of the herbs and tonic are currently being researched
to support their use. However, there are no visible adverse effects to
homoeopathic medicine that denotes more researches are still required. This
medical approach is not considered mainstream but it has become one of the
major subjects of new research these days. Few homoeopathic practitioners are
still not licenced with the medical store.
On the other hand, allopathic medicine
term is used for western medicine. It roughly defined as curing a symptom with
something which is it’s against. There is the best example of a laxative that
is used to treat constipation. There is a common allopathic medical treatment
that involves migraine medicines, antibiotics, pain relievers and chemotherapy
i.e. diabetic drugs and surgery. However, this medical approach is considered
mainstream medication but it often develops doubt among patients just because
of the side effect of the treatment or medication. The practitioners of
allopathic drugs are generally licenced medical stores. The main
objective of the allopathic drug is to prevent illness and treat illness too.
There is an example of preventive medical treatment such as the covid-19
vaccine. However, allopathic medicine must follow constant research and trials
so, it is a more evidence-based medical approach.
In 2019, Covid-19: a comparative study of
Allopathic Medicine (Chloroquine and Zinc) and Homeopathic Medicines (China
Officinalis or Cinchona and Zincum Metallicum) have already illustrated that
“chloroquine is an antimalarial drug which is used to treat patients who are
infected with malaria. It is an allopathic drug that is approved by
FDA for diagnosing lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and malaria. On contrary,
“cinchona” was previous introduced by the father of Homeopathic German
Physician Samuel Christian Hahnemann to treat malaria patient. It includes
homoeopathic drug. Thus, both drug posses’ similar symptoms and treating
properties. But, after that cinchona is used in place of chloroquine
because it does not have visible side effect yet.
There are various places whereas traditional medicine is preferred. Homeopathic/Ayurveda still prescribes as a form of prophylactic medicine or immunity-boosting but does not actively encourage.
The Minister of AYUSH has
reiterated the application of alternative medicines i.e. homoeopathic and
Ayurveda to treat coronavirus and suggested sipping water boiled with
tulsi, turmeric and ginger to fight the infection. Apart from this,
Minister recommended the use of a homoeopathic medical approach to preventing
Covid-19 infection and ‘symptomatic management’ by using Unani medicines. “Arsenicum
album 30 is a homoeopathic medicine which is majorly used in the cases
of respiratory infection”. This statement claimed by Ayurveda Minister.
Generally, Minister of AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy,
Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathic.
Thus, a big debate is taking place between
allopathy and homoeopathy to get the best prospect. Still, there is no
treatment perfect for everyone. So, research on both medical approach is
extensively working together to get different cures for the different people
while also withdrawal symptoms.
