Overpopulation Awareness
Overpopulation Awareness
Overpopulation has become one of the major issues of most of the world’s issues. Whether, it is a question of an energy shortage, food shortage or lack of drinking water, every nation across the globe is affected by it or it will be as well. Partly thanks to the particular country to import goods from abroad and maintain its own welfare. But this process will not go for a long period. The number of inhibitions is increasing day by day in every country. The world population is on threatened to increase in the next few decades to 8 or 10 billion approx. So, it is a great opportunity that more and more nations can require their own basic commodities and products themselves.
The impact of overpopulation is detrimental
for the present and for future generation as well because it is bringing
depletion of resources, unemployment, degradation of environment and inequalities
and income. To protect the environment and prevent the future generation from experience
a scarcity of resources, immediate attention is essential to be given for controlling overpopulation and goal for sustainable development.
It is a quite sad reality that Union Nations
Population Fund reported that 141 million births were recorded worldwide last
year (during the Covid-19 pandemic), of which 27.2% were in India. So, India will
be at the centre of the baby boom that is triggered during a covid-19 outbreak,
thus it has encouraged lockdown around the world and limited residents indoors as
per the report by the United Nations. Unicef stated that around 116 million babies
will be born under the shadow of the covid-19 pandemic. It is not good news for us,
it is a harsh reality of which can estimate depletion of resources in the upcoming
time. People must understand that overpopulation can ruin their life in the upcoming
time as well as the future generation. Just because of our mistakes, our future
generation has to experience a shortage of drinking water, food and resources etc. Governments across the globe execute lockdown for breaking the chain of virus and
exceeds the availability of resources like medical services, etc. But
this lockdown execution has created a huge problem for our future generation
because we take it negatively and results can be seen now in the form of overpopulation,
lack of medical facilities etc.
But still, there are several possibilities to resolve the issue of overpopulation. Government across global must formulate strict laws or must use the International Convention on Population and Development is the bar for bringing legislation to control the population. We are living in a modern era that assists gender equality and women empowerment. Several sections of the society are clinging to the old age norm of having at least one son in the family so that he can manage their property and carry out their lineage. I would like to comment on this statement that it is a myth or orthodox thinking that posses’ by many families and couples so they keep having babies till then a son is born. Such thinking is the factor of unnecessarily increasing population.
Execution of “One
Child regulation” will work wonder in various nations because it will control the population, bring gender equality, and update people not to cling to orthodox
thinking. Another solution for reducing overpopulation is to educate the masses
specifically people who live in rural areas. They can become another aspect of controlling the population as the people requires to be more aware of the unfavourable
consequences of overpopulation and the advantages of using contraceptive methods. In
addition, there are several nations whereas the government has already taken
several serious steps towards controlling overpopulation such as China, which
is considered a highly populated country around the world, has taken the initiative of
a strict one-child policy for families and couples. While Kenya was one of
the first nations which realized the need for population control. So, it arranges
family planning campaign and updates people about the impact of overpopulation.
Thus, India’s government is also required to formulate and enforce highly strict
laws and legislation related to population control and sticks with the laws with
determination then desirable results can be gained.
As I already
mentioned that rule and policies cannot give a huge contribution to control overpopulation
but these initiatives can play a supportive factor to resolve the issue. This
is our responsibility to make people understand the disastrous impact of overpopulation on our earth. So, we must create awareness in our families, friends and others as much as we can through different messages such as “Don’t replenish the earth”,
“We don't love the number but loved the people ”, “The less man and the less jam” to live a sustainable
healthier life so, It is important to control the population. It is our prime duty to be a responsible citizen of our nation, let’s
support the government to fight against overpopulation.
Overpopulation is the sign of overconsumption
and the world is too small for us, so understand this fact and fight against
overpopulation.
Jai Hind! Jai
Bharat!
Always stay
happy with healthy life 😊
